Governance

The Empowerment Zone program is a federal program and the rural zones are under the guidance of the United States Department of Agriculture – Rural Development. Northern Maine Development Commission serves as the lead agency for the Aroostook County Empowerment Zone, and zone activities are guided by the Northern Maine Empowerment Council.
